Investigating Inversions

Use this worksheet to explore the effect of "turning a function upside down"!

This is what happens when you INVERT something - so we are talking here about "reciprocal" NOT "inverse" functions.

Try to discover the rules for inversion - see if you can learn to predict what 1/f(x) looks like if you know f(x).

Use the slider 'a' to change from f(x) to 1/f(x).

Use 'b' and 'c' to play with other linear functions, and 'd' and 'e' to try out some more interesting ones!
